To support the development of its customer BLANCHEPORTE, LOG'S is deploying a Pocket Sorter at its Leers (59) site.

Since 2017, Log'S - a major player in contract logistics - and Blancheporte - a specialist in fashion and home distance selling - have started a strong partnership together. The challenge is to support the brand's revival by taking charge of all its logistics and optimizing specific E-Commerce processes.

Log'S takes care of receiving, quality control, storage, order preparation and returns processing for Blancheporte. With Blancheporte, Log'S has developed new skills such as cutting and personalization (65,000 pieces were embroidered in 2021).

As part of its ongoing quest for innovation and continuous improvement, Log'S proposed the installation of a Pocket Sorter at Blancheporte to optimize the sorting of order-picking items. This investment of more than €4.5 million will enable better management of production peaks, and a significant gain in productivity (40,000 hours), while maintaining quality of service for the end customer. An 18,000m² extension to the building was also carried out to accommodate 3,000m² of mechanization.

The principle of the pocket sorter is to automate the sorting of items by order. In concrete terms, the pouch sorter enables items to be picked en masse before being injected into pouches (one item per pouch), which are then sorted and transported to the packing table for each order ready to be packed. 65,000 items are sorted in this way every day.

Over and above the mechanization, the project presented a formidable challenge in terms of change management. Thanks to the mobilization of teams, the creation of new professions and the invention of training courses, the project was an opportunity to experience an intense human adventure.

" This project will enable us to further improve our quality and lead times for our customers. It is part of the development plan we are pursuing to consolidate Blancheporte's position among the top 10 fashion & home e-tailers. It's another step in the very solid and professional partnership between the Log's Group and Blancheporte. "Franck DURIEZ, President of Blancheporte
