Groundbreaking ceremony for new LOG'S logistics campus in Wattrelos
As part of its AMBITION 2022 Development Plan, announced in January 2019, Log's Group, a specialist in tailor-made logistics services for all business sectors, is looking to expand its supply facilities, while managing the existing ones as well as possible, so as to be able to offer its customers sites adapted to their activities and made operational very quickly. The group plans to expand its real estate stock by 453,000 m2 over 4 years, creating 1,500 jobs in the process.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony for the new sites in Sailly-lez-Cambrai, Louvres, Maubeuge and Denain, on Monday, September 30, 2019, Franck Grimonprez, Founder and Chairman of Groupe Log'S, Damien Castelain, President of the Lille European Metropolis, Dominique Baert, Mayor of Wattrelos and Catherine Osson, Member of Parliament for the Nord department, officially marked the start of construction work on the new Log'S Logistics Campus in the NEW business park in Wattrelos, the former emblematic site of La Redoute.
The campus will comprise 2 buildings. A 36,000 m2 building to be delivered in May 2020 and a 96,000 m2 building to be delivered in early 2021. This represents an investment of 80 million euros. They will support the logistics activities of the Log's Group's Retailers & E-commercants customers. In addition, 400 jobs will be created when these new sites open.
What's more, Log'S wants its new sites to be state-of-the-art logistics facilities, i.e. even more innovative in terms of technology, but above all more respectful of the environment while complying with new standards.
This new NEW logistics campus in Wattrelos will fully meet our commitment to creating greener warehouses.
For example, special attention will be paid to stormwater management, with the project incorporating management of a 100-year rainfall, with road water treated by ADOPTA filters, and infiltration through valleys and basins. The Log's Group has integrated its environment to ensure that the project has no impact on local residents, whether in terms of truck flow management, noise pollution or freeing up parking spaces for local residents.
